Aristides

In this series, Prof. Noe looks at “Aristides” in the Lives of Eminent Commanders, by Cornelius Nepos.

Nepos was a Roman biographer who lived at the same time as Catullus and Cicero. The subject of this essay, Aristides, was a Greek general who fought in the Persian wars of the early 5th century B.C.
